National Geographic Bee Contest
Jeremy, an 8th grade student, won the school-level competition of the National Geography Bee. Jeremy will now advance to the next level of competition, a written examination to determine state competitors. All school winners are eligible to win the national championship and it s first prize, a $25,000 college scholarship, at the national competition May 22-24, 2012 in Washington D.C.

2012 B Team Girls Tournament
The 2012 B-Girls Tournament was played at Luther High in Onalaska on Saturday, January 21st. Our girls were divided into two teams, Lewiston Red and Lewiston Black. Both teams had a great time. Development and fundamentals were stressed by the coaches. You could sure see the girls grow in their play during the tournament!

The Giving Tree
The faculty would like to thank the parents for the new classroom materials collected from the Giving Tree. Markers, puzzles, learning games, computer resources, art equipment, books, and other items will benefit the children.
We pray that God will continue to bless our school with dedicated parents and children who praise and thank God for all of his blessings. Happy New Year everyone!

Cheerleading Routine
The 5-8 grade cheerleaders performed a dance routine to the song, "Firework" at the St. John's MCG basketball game.

Firemen Poster Contest
The Lewiston Fire Dept. runs a Poster Contest every year during Fire Prevention Week in October. The children are given a set of rules to follow along with a Theme that must appear on the poster. This year's Theme was: Protect Your Family From Fire
The judging is broken down into 3 categories. K-1st Grades, 2nd-3rd Grades, and 4th-5th Grades compete against each other. Posters are collected from the Lewiston Elementary School, St. John's, and Silo. The posters are first judged by a group of Lewiston Firefighters. The Lewiston Firefighters pick 3 winners for each division. Those winners are then sent to the Tri County Firefighter's Association. The Tri County is made up of Winona, Fillmore, and Houston counties. The posters are then judged and sent back to the departments. This year St. John's had 2 winners:
2nd-3rd Grade Division: Raeana ---- 3rd Place in the Lewiston Poster Contest
4th-5th Grade Division: Madelyn --- 1st Place in the Lewiston Poster Contest AND 1st Place in the Tri County Poster Contest
